Hugo Gernsback's Electro Importing Company provided thousands of experimenters with their introduction to wireless/radio. Here are some pages from their Catalog 20, published in 1918, courtesy of
eBay seller retroetcetera
who offered it for sale in 2007.
As always, click on an image to view a larger version of it.
Outstanding piece of Gernsback's life. I've saw only a cover-art before. Thanx for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! I'll have more Gernsback items. Check this page: http://www.magazineart.org/publishers/gernsback.html and the Wikipedia pages on Gernsback, and Experimenter Publishing, for more on Hugo.
ReplyDeleteWonderful images of early wireless I've never seen. Thanks for sharing. I think it's important to preserve these works of art as an entire magazine.
ReplyDeleteIf someone who has these catalogs is willing to scan them, I'll publish them as e-books, same as I published the Sears 1922 catalog.
ReplyDeleteUntil then, we have to take what we can get.
